Ob/Gyn Hospital "Dr.Shterev" provides high quality healthcare services in the field of assisted reproduction technologies (ART) that are performed in the treatment of infertility, obstetrics and gynecology. The outpatient medical healthcare is conducted at Medical Center "Reproductive health".

Assisted Reproductive technologies (ART)
Even before the establishment of the Hospital, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Shterev, together with part of the present team, lays the foundations of the application of modern methods for infertility treatment in Bulgaria. With more then 25 years of experience in assisted reproduction, Ob/Gyn Hospital "Dr.Shterev" is a pioneer in the implementation of ART in Bulgaria. At the moment, due to the highly qualified physicians and embryologists, the modern base and the up-to-date equipment according to highest international standards, the patients can take advantage of a wide range of advanced assisted reproductive technologies and methods: : intrauterine insemination (IUI), IVF (in vitro fertilization), ICSI, PESA, TESE, PBMC, FISH, Preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD / PGS), Laser assisted hatching (AH), Magnetic activated cell storing (MACS), co-cultivation of embryos with endometrial cells, freezing and cryopreservation of spermatozoa, oocytes, embryos, etc. When resolving complex cases, the team of Ob/Gyn Hospital "Dr. Shterev" holds a consultation with highly recognized scientists, and our partners, from leading hospitals on reproductive health in UK, Belgium, Italy, Holland, Israel, Macedonia, Greece and Turkey.

A prove for this fact is the election and membership of representatives from the hospital in a number of committees and specialized groups with a status of national representatives,such as The European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology – ESHRE, – ESHRE). where Dr. Tanya Timeva represents Bulgaria in the category "Clinicians" and Dr. Tanya Milachich – the category "Scientists" (both of them with a mandate of three years). Dr. Tanq Milachich is one of the chosen members of the Specialized Interest Group "Reproductive Genetics" to The Executive Committee of ESHRE. The success of Dr. Milachich is regarded success for Bulgaria as well because this is the first time when our country has a representative in The Executive Committee of The European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE). Four of the embryologists in the hospital own an ESHRE certificate after successfully passing an exam. This progress makes Ob/Gyn Hospital "Dr. Shterev" the hospital with most embryologists certified by ESHRE.
Since 2001 Ob/Gyn Hospital "Dr.Shterev" participates in the European IVF monitoring (EIM) by presenting information for the number of conducted IVF procedures and the percentage of the achieved pregnancies. Each year Ob/Gyn Hospital "Dr.Shterev" gives a detailed report for its activities and success rates in front of the state health institutions and the public.
Gynecology
In the field of gynecology Medical Center "Reproductive Health" and Ob/Gyn Hospital "Dr.Shterev" offer specialized and prophylactic gynecological examinations for women of all ages. Advanced gynecological examinations, tests and treatments are conducted due to the up-to-date diagnostic techniques and methods.
The professional medical team of Ob/Gyn Hospital "Dr.Shterev" also performs gynecological surgeries - from minor surgical interventions (dilatation of the cervical canal, polypectomy, curettage, artificial termination of pregnancy up to the 12 gestational week, puncture of the cyst with ablactation) to hysteroscopy (diagnostic and surgical), laparoscopy (diagnostic and surgical), laparocystotomy, laparomyomectomy, fallopian tubes plastic, cervical cerclage, hysterectomy and others. We have also thought about the post-surgical patient’s stay as another very important part of the recovery period. The patients are accommodated in comfortably furnished hospital rooms with a maximum of two hospital beds and with personal WC and a bathroom.

In the sphere of obstetrics, Medical Center “Reproductive Health” and Ob / Gyn Hospital “Dr. Shterev” offer a high quality medical and obstetric care during the pregnancy and the delivery. We believe that the birth of each baby is a very special moment and deserves special care and attention. In the maternity ward more than 1300 newborns have taken their first breath. For more than 5 years ago our maternity ward has been offering warm and affable atmosphere for the future parents and their newborns, personal care and attention with every woman in birth.
