Mining Machines and Equipment

Mining is a heavy industry requiring specialized equipment and machinery. Since mining can be done underground and above ground machinery has to be designed specifically for the operational task.

Machinery such as front end loaders and dump trucks are typically used in open cut mines, whilst many underground mines have small tunnels where locomotives and open wagons are used. Most mines have crushing stations where the ore is broken down into smaller pieces for easier transport and sometimes these stations are underground, breaking the ore before it is brought to the surface.

Mining is a dangerous industry and machinery must be inspected regularly to ensure it is in perfect working order.
